Who owns Sky Q box?
Sky Q boxes and any other equipment we designate as Sky-owned will remain the property of Sky or another company in the Sky group of companies at all times (unless agreed otherwise) and are loaned to you at no cost. Each item of equipment loaned to you from time to time is “loaned equipment”.
Can I sell a Sky Q box?
Sky Q boxes and mini boxes are loaned by Sky. You cannot purchase them. Any for sale elsewhere are stolen property and won't work anyway.

Your utilisation of Sky Multiscreen relies on you being on the same network as your main Sky Q box in order for the Mini boxes to communicate with your main Sky box. Taking your Mini boxes out of the house and trying to use them elsewhere without the Sky Q box would not work because of this.
Can you keep Sky Q box without subscription?
If you're leaving Sky Q, changing your subscription, or need a new box, you'll need to return the equipment you loaned from us when you first joined Sky Q.
What are the disadvantages of Sky Q?
There is no 4K HDR nor Dolby Atmos. They are great for watching all Sky content and your recordings in other rooms in your home, but cannot view Ultra HD shows or films. That includes anything recorded from a 4K channel or source. Your 4K recordings simply won't play through a Sky Q Mini box.
Is Sky Q going to be phased out?
How many Sky Q boxes are there?
Sky Q Multiscreen customers can have up to four Sky Q Mini boxes in their home, all connected to the main Sky Q Hub in the living room, and can watch on up to two of these devices at the same time as the main box, depending on which hub you have.
Does Sky Q use its own WiFi?
Whether you have broadband from Sky or not, you can use your Sky Q mini boxes as WiFi hotspots. If you have your broadband from Sky, this is automatically set up. If you don't have your broadband from Sky, you will need to turn this feature on.
Does Sky work without internet?
Most of the Sky Box services work without the need to be connected to the internet. However, Sky On Demand feature will require an internet connection to be able to download titles. If you've already downloaded something to watch and it's in your planner, don't worry you'll be able to watch this.
Is Sky Q satellite or WiFi?
Sky Q is a satellite television system and requires a dish signal. The internet-only Sky television products are ‘Glass' and ‘Stream'.
What can I do with an old Sky Q box?
You can also send us old equipment to recycle. We reuse most parts of your old products and recycle the rest. If your Sky Q, Sky Stream puck or broadband kit has been loaned to you as part of your subscription, you'll need to return it to us when you leave. If you hang on to it, you'll pay a non-return fee.
